The SOSSEC Consortium was formed in response to a US Army's mission requirement to provide decisive and effective support in response to the natural and man-made threats to the nation and its military forces. The capabilities created under this Consortium are, thereby, directly applicable to the full spectrum of national security and disaster response missions.
The Consortium itself is a diverse assemblage of government, industry and academic partners with extensive experience in pulling together diverse organizational entities around common mission objectives and creating a unified task organizational entity. It is, therefore, able to provide the concepts and tools to enable local first responders with supporting state, federal, civil and military resources to do what is needed in a timely fashion.
SOSSEC provides its clients with technology agnostic approaches that capture the best of breed solutions by openly sharing technology and expertise across its membership. Its membership is open to any government entity, industrial organization or academic institution that agrees to abide by the rules and concepts of the Consortium.
