The SOSSEC Consortium was formed in response to the US Army's mission requirement to provide decisive and effective support in response to the natural and man-made threats to the nation and its military forces.

SOSSEC has developed a proven, low-risk, cost-effective approach to satisfy the requirements of Solicitation #W15QKN-10-R-0610. This approach capitalizes on the unparalleled expertise of our Consortium made up of multiple experts in technical innovation consulting, analysis, software and hardware services. These services include: resource management; engineering; administrative and program support functions; data analysis and reduction; simulations and modeling; functional and configuration analysis; sensitivity analysis; optimization of tactical system effectiveness; participation in natural work groups/Integrated Process and Product Teams (IPTs), customer liaison, workforce training, out-reach and public/private partnering support.
SOSSEC offers an innovative, cost-efficient approach to meet all the requirements of the Army Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC) and the Program Executive Office (PEO) at Picatinny Arsenal. Our team of companies has broad expertise in all areas referenced in Homeland Security.
Our approach harnesses the power of an established consortium of leaders from industry and academia under the direction of a proven Technical Lead.
SOSSEC, Inc. is chartered as the single point of contact activity for the System of Systems Security (SOSSEC) Consortium, and offers the unique ability to integrate and harness the power of a diverse consortium of organizations.
This combination of skilled and experienced collaborators, integrated into a committed support team, offers the PEOs and ARDEC several major benefits that span the scope of this effort including:
- Ongoing identification and assessment of the latest techniques and technologies from all sources
- Unique breadth of real-world operational experience—including demonstrated capabilities to rationalize and integrate the needs of diverse stakeholders
- Best-of-breed, technology and product agnostic solutions
- Demonstrated history of delivering effective solutions for mission critical needs.
The Consortium was specifically formed to address the needs of the Department of Defense (DOD). It is founded on a simple concept: that collaboration, innovation, and cooperation among a broad spectrum of industry and academia vastly improves the products and services delivered to its clients. This concept, combined with a competitive environment among Consortium membership, supported by quality oversight by SOSSEC Inc ensures low risk, lowest cost, and the best-of-breed delivery of services and solutions to our clients. Most traditional companies do not provide the breadth of capabilities that we do.
Why SOSSEC Provides the Best Solution
SOSSEC leads an objective, multi-disciplinary, technology-neutral team of highly specialized members in the support of DOD clients and programs. Most of our members enjoy many years of experience in dealing with the DOD and its requirements. Our non-traditional companies are representative of the most innovative, entrepreneurial companies in the US today and have the benefit of working in a mentor/ protégéé arrangement with those companies having more government experience. In this way we have successfully melded the best-of-breed of both categories into a decisive, energetic and responsive organization. When the ARDEC and the PEO engage SOSSEC, they are able to bring a broad spectrum of core capabilities from the SOSSEC membership. Note the list of the present participating membership. The breath and scope of the Consortium's capabilities is essentially endless as new members join the ranks of the Consortium, new capabilities and core competencies are added to the portfolio of capabilities available to the Army in support of the requirements of this solicitation. Since the Consortium is an open consortium, new members are arriving daily or can be solicited for memberships by the Consortium. Even the most demanding requirement can be addressed either by existing members or at the suggestion of the Army; the Consortium can solicit membership specifically suited to the task. Given the breadth and reach of the SOSSEC Consortium, there is no task that is too difficult or too obscure that cannot be addressed by this dedicated group of professionals.
The Army at Picatinny has already experienced the benefits of the Consortium approach during the first year of the multi-year OTA they have executed with the SOSSEC Consortium. Throughout this period the SOSSEC Consortium has met or exceeded all expectations of the Army, refining processes, executing programs and projects, providing specialized expertise and generally establishing a real and enduring partnership with the government team.
We strongly believe that the acceptance of this unique Consortium approach will prove a welcome addition to other ARDEC and PEO organizations and add to the Army's present portfolio of acquisition reform approaches to streamline how they acquires services. We know of no other company or team that can provide this approach.
